The argument is not against "gay" marriage.

It's against alternative definitions to marriage.

We already define marriage in a moral sense.

You cannot marry more than one person.

You cannot marry before you are both 18.

You cannot marry your horse, house or elbow.

"Gay marriage" is a new idea. Previously, gays cohabitated, just like heterosexual couples. Now, this is used as an attack on marriage.

"Marriage" is not a union open to gays, anymore than the "Boys" room is open to girls.
